What VideoNotepad stores

VideoNotepad stores the email identifier needed for your account and the private notebook data you choose to save, including the YouTube video ID, video title, timestamp, note text, playback position, and creation or update time. Saved notes and playback positions are associated with your VideoNotepad account so they can follow you across devices and are not published by VideoNotepad.

YouTube links and playback

You can paste a YouTube link into VideoNotepad. VideoNotepad processes the video ID in that link and may retrieve limited public information, such as the video title, to identify the notebook. VideoNotepad does not provide in-app YouTube search or ask you to connect a Google account. Limited technical request information may be retained temporarily in security and diagnostic logs.

Videos play inside VideoNotepad through YouTube's standard embedded player and IFrame Player API. Your browser connects directly to YouTube, which may receive the video ID, page and device information, and playback activity; place or recognize cookies; and provide content or advertising under its own policies. VideoNotepad uses player timing information to attach timestamps to notes, but never receives your YouTube password, Google login credentials, or YouTube Premium status. VideoNotepad also saves your most recent position for each video so you can continue where you left off.

Service providers

VideoNotepad uses service providers for email authentication, database storage, hosting, security, and delivery. They process only the information needed to provide those services and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.

Subscriptions and payment information

If you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment method, billing address, tax information, and transaction details. VideoNotepad does not store complete card numbers or card security codes. It stores the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, subscription status, renewal date, and cancellation status needed to provide Premium access and customer support.

Your controls and retention

Notes and saved playback positions remain available with your account. You can delete an individual note or an entire video notebook from within VideoNotepad. A pasted video link is not added to your library unless you save notebook data for it. To request removal of remaining account-linked data, contact the person or organization that provided your VideoNotepad access so the request can be verified.

This notice may change as VideoNotepad adds learning features or service providers. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page.
